Building Our Commitment
AS WE ENTER THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, WE MOVE FROM THE EMPHASIS ON “BUILDING OUR FAITH” TO THE NATURAL NEXT STEP OF FAITH – “BUILDING OUR COMMITMENT.” Faith always leads to action. We will focus on using our TIME, our TALENT, our TREASURE, and our TESTIMONY to express our faith in Jesus Christ by building our faithfulness and commitment in these areas. Each one of has a vital part to play in God’s work here at Highland Park Baptist Church. Each one of us makes our church stronger, more effective and a greater instrument for Christ when we live out our faith through our commitment.
LET ME ENCOURAGE YOU TO INVITE AND BRING PEOPLE TO CHURCH. The greatest tool for church growth is you and your testimony. Remember Jesus told the man of Gadara to go home and tell his friends what good things God had done for him. He followed that instruction and many came to Christ. The same is said about the Samaritan woman of John 4. She went and told her friends what Jesus had done for her and a multitude came to Jesus. Let the Lord use you to share your faith. Demonstrate your commitment to Him.
IF YOU ARE NOT IN A SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS, PLEASE MAKE THAT A PART OF YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH PROCESS. You will enjoy the Bible, make wonderful friends, and make our church stronger by your presence.
MAY THE LORD RICHLY BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU THIS WEEK.

HPBC Soccer Has Begun
The HPBC Children’s Ministry has a soccer program for boys and girls from First through Sixth grades. We have partnered with the Boy Scouts of America in making this a quality program where children can learn to play the sport of soccer for only $1.00 a week.
We meet 10:00am – 12:00noon on Saturday mornings at the new soccer fields located on the corner of Union Avenue and South Willow Street, next to our church auditorium. In case of inclement weather, after meeting at the soccer fields, we will move indoors to our church gym on the 1800 block of Vance Avenue.
The official kick-off is scheduled for Saturday, February 25.
Contact Steve Whiting at the church offices for more information.
